School Holidays Clinics
This Season, we are offering multiple School Holidays Athletics Clinics to club Registered Members.
The program will run over two days during the school holidays on Tuesday 19th and Thursday 21st September. These clinics are offered to registered members of a Little Athletics to ensure all athletes are covered by Little Athletics Victoria insurance scheme as a sanctioned event.
Our program has been designed for the following age groups and skills levels:
U8, U9 & U10 Sessions: These will be run by former MLAC athletes and Level 1 & 2 coaches, for little athletes in Under 8 to Under 10 Age groups who want to learn the fundamental steps and techniques for events. Coaching will be offered for 3 Events on Tuesday 19th Sep and 2 Events on Thursday 21st Sep.
Focus on:

How to warm up / cool down correctly for each event

learning the fundamentals (ie. how to hold a piece of equipment correctly, jumping off correct leg )

Entering and exiting areas correctly

How to measure run-ups
U11 & 12 beginners Introduction to Triple Jump and Javelin

Correct warm-up and cool down

Learn the basics

How to measure run-ups

Correct take-off technique (triple jump)

How to hold the javelin

Correct throwing

U11 to U15 Sessions: These will be run by Level 5 qualified coaches for athletes in Under 11 to Under 15 Age groups who are experienced in the fundamentals for each event and want to improve their technical skills. Coaching will be offered for individual events over 2 days with each session of 75 min duration.

Events
Athletes will be able to learn and participate in the following events over the two days.

Long jump, Discus, Shotput, Scissor Jump and Hurdles.

Triple Jump and Javelin is offered for U11 and above.

Blocks set up for U11 and above.
Beginners events will be offered as multiple sessions of 3 Events or 2 Events with each event of 45 min duration.
Intermediate sessions are available to book as single events with each event of 75 min duration.

Cost

U8, U9 & U10 events are $15 for 3 events and $10 for 2 Events which represents great value for our members.

U11 & above events are $10 per session. Sessions must be fully paid before you can attend. We cannot accept payment on the day and you must be registered to attend.
How do I book and pay?

What to Bring
Please wear comfortable sports clothes - shorts or leggings, T-shirt, a top and runners. Please bring a water bottle, hat, sunscreen and a warm top in case of cold weather. Please ensure your child brings a bag with refreshments, snacks and something to drink as there are no facilities to purchase items.
Shoes
Normal runners are fine for U8, U9 and U10. Under 11 and above are permitted to wear spikes. Please bring a shoe bag to change your shoes once you complete your training.
Toilets
There are three portable toilets that will be open and available to use. Please ensure all children are accompanied by an adult.
What if it rains?
If there is bad weather and the Coaches determine the event cannot go ahead, we will cancel the event and provide a refund. We will post on Facebook if the event is cancelled due to poor weather.
